Sean Crittendon has been a USD 409 Board Member for the past five years! Sean is the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Atchison and Co-Owner of Crittendon Home Care. Sean graduated for AHS, has worked for USD 409, and has helped create a current program for USD 409. His mom and dad both worked for the school district and his father is a former USD 409 Board member!
As a board member, Sean hopes to continue to see the school evolve along with and sometimes ahead of K-12 education trends nationally. He wants to see that students have the ability to compete globally.
Sean is married with two children that attend Atchison Elementary School. He has a family Portuguese Water Dog named Esky. When he’s not working or serving on boards in the community he likes to read, explore, and coach his kids in various sports. He’s also a local Boy Scout Leader.
When asked what he hopes to see for the future of USD 409 he said, “I want to help create opportunities for kids in our district that will help guide them in following their dreams. I want everyone to know that I work for what’s in the best interest of all students and I am accessible and open to new ideas.
Sean is very active as a board member and serves on multiple committees. These include the Policy Committee, the Rec Commission Interview Committee, and the district's Activity Committee.
