"Hey Nerd" in only Jen Dean fashion, can be heard throughout the halls at AHS and USD 409! Jen Dean has been working for USD 409 for the past 20 years! Jen is a graduate of AHS and if you look closely at the yearbooks in the 80's you will find many pictures of her with her 80's hair styles!!
Jen had been working in the business technology sector when she relocated back to Atchison to be nearer family. This newly created position at USD409 became available and she jumped at the chance to change sectors when offered the position. If given the chance.. she would still be in school trying to figure out her major ;)
What Jen loves most about her job the fact that technology is always evolving.. which means she continuously getting to learn and do something new.
What you might not know about Jen is that she does so much work in our tech department! She manages 750 iPads for grades 7th-12th grade. She updates, pushes out apps and does repairs on them. She also designed the elementary school labs and works with teachers so they can best work with the students! Jen is a truly vital part off all technology functions across every building. She does more behind the scenes than anyone could ever know!
Jen is a wonderful asset to Atchison Public Schools and we are so proud that she is our 2019-2020 Classified Employee of the Year! She deserves every ounce of the recognition she gets from this award! Thank you Jen for all you do for the students and staff of USD 409! You truly are one of a kind! #weare409
